Toyota Motor Corp. said that pricing of the 2009 RAV4 crossover will start at $22,245, with a slightly larger four-cylinder engine that gets an extra 1 mpg each in city and highway driving.

Other than a $60 increase in shipping, Toyota said it will leave prices unchanged on all base RAV4 models.

On average, the entire RAV4 lineup will increase by about $350, which includes the shipping increase. It will arrive at Toyota dealerships early next month.

The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine will get 22 mpg city/28 mpg highway. The engine also produces 13 more hp than the 2008 model’s 2.4-liter engine, Toyota says.

A 3.5-liter V-6 also will be available, but the EPA-estimated 19 mpg city/27 mpg highway for that engine is no improvement from the 2008 RAV4.
