99 hatch with a bathtub

i just got my hands on a 99 hatchback
5 spd.
lately i noticed that there is a s#it lot of water
in the spare wheel compartment. I can hear it
splashing around as i take the corners there must
be a couple of liters in there. I think its the rear lights that could be leaking. I want to fix this cause it may
start to rust in there
