2006 Nissan 350Z Nismo S and R Tune this is a great review of the different versions.
Affalterbach, Jun 09, 2006-Mercedes AMG has developed an exclusive and distinctly puristic special series SLK. With the AMG 5.5-litre V8 engine enhanced to 294 kW/400 hp and 520 Newton metres, numerous lightweight construction components, carbon hardtop, 19-inch AMG forged wheels, AMG height-adjustable torsion sports suspension and AMG high-performance composite brake system the special SLK 55 AMG demonstrates even more convincingly its sports talent.
Appropriate to the optimised weight there is a redeveloped AMG 5.5-litre V8 engine under the bonnet with a maximum performance of 294 kW/400 hp, as well as a 520 Newton metres torque. A modified air intake, AMG sports air filter as well as newly developed fan-type exhaust pipes provide an efficient gas cycle and enable that the eight-cylinder reacts more promptly to accelerator pedal movement - which is acoustically noticeable due to the unmistakable V8 sound. The combination of a lower vehicle weight and a high-performance AMG eight-cylinder engine guarantees first-class driving performance: the acceleration from zero to 100 km/h requires only 4.5 seconds (standard vehicle: 4.9 secs.), after 15.5 seconds the SLK 55 AMG already achieves 200 km/h (standard vehicle 17.5 secs.). Power transmission is supplied by the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC with manual drive program and AMG aluminium shift paddles on the steering wheel. The chassis and brake system are the ideal partners for the dynamic drive package. For example, the AMG height-adjustable torsion suspension, including adjustable shock absorbers, which has been optimised on the racetrack, allows amazing cornering speed. A brace in the engine compartment provides additional rigidity and more lateral dynamics. The special series SLK 55 AMG has ultra-light AMG forged light alloy-wheels with mixed-size tyres in sizes 235/35 ZR 19 (front) and 265/30 ZR 19 (rear) ââ¬â as an alternative, optional special sports tyres are available without extra charge. Perfect deceleration is guaranteed by the AMG high-performance brake system with larger composite discs on the front axle.

No Plans to Revive RX-7, Mazda Insists
Those expecting to glimpse a new rotary-powered Mazda sports car at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show will be in for a serious disappointment, several senior Mazda officials tell TheCarConnection.com. Itâs not that the automaker isnât exploring the idea of reviving its legendary two-seater, which went out of production last year. For the moment, though, it has its corporate hands full with the new four-seat RX-8, which is just in the midst of a global launch. Thereâs another problem, stresses Mazda Motors Board Member Steve Odell: limited production capacity for the new Renesis rotary engine. Thereâs only capacity for 60,000 of the engines a year, he notes, around what Mazda hopes to need for the RX-8, and expanding production would be âquite difficult.â Translation: extremely expensive. But there is a future for the rotary, he adds. âIâm sure weâd likeâ to produce other rotary-powered models, including a new RX-7, âif the demand is there.â A solid hit with the new car could be the encouragement Mazda needs. âPaul A. Eisenstein
From The Car Connection. Does this meen no rotary for the next Miata? Looks like.

How do you guys rate this car is it a nice running car? the one my mom is thinking of getting is manual and has 20,000 miles on it and a perfect body thier asking 14,000 for it is it worth it? and how do they drive?
I have a 2006 Sonata with 5200 miles on it. It is a GLS V6 and I really lover it BUT..
I have developed a very annoying engine whine at 60-69MPH. I have had the Tech drive it and he has acknowledged that the noise exists but I get the feeling they do not give it much prioirity. Has anyone else experienced this noise?? Have you gotten any information about it. I am trying to find anyone that has had this so I can get Hyundai to address this matter and not just sluff it off, which seems to be what they are doing so far.
FYI - The Tech discovered that while using the sportronic shift and going fom 5 to 4 gear the noise immediately ceases but as soon as you upshift back to 5th the noise immediately re-appears.
